  • In case you are wondering, it is possible to get RSS feeds from your favourite profile in twitter and it is also possible to get a RSS feed from your favourite page in Facebook. This would mean that you no longer have to check the profiles of your favourite accounts everytime by visiting Twitter or Facebook, but by just automatically getting feeds from them directly to your RSS feed reader.

    Twitter :

Getting the feed of twitter accounts is by far the most easiest thing to do. For example: If you want to get the tweets of a twitter account, then all you need to do is replace "username" with the actual username in the following line :

    http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/username.rss

For example, http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/techcoveredblog.rss is the feed URL of the TechCovered twitter feed.

    Facebook Pages :

You can also get feeds from Facebook pages, but this is not possible with Facebook accounts or profiles (Due to security reasons, only pages have this feature. Like this, for example). All you need to do is to click on the "Get Updates via RSS" option of the Facebook page. (Note: You must "Like" the page in order to view this option)

Another option, if you want to do it dirty, is to copy the ID of the facebook page and replace it with "yourpageid" in the following URL :

    http://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?id=yourpageid&format=rss20
For example, this is the TechCovered's Facebook Page's RSS feed.
